Ceramic Tile Base System

System Description:

Ceramic tile applied over FIBEROCK® underlayment, which is applied over an acoustical isolation mat. The acoustical isolation mat is applied over FORACRETE® Structural Panels. The FORTACRETE® Panels are fastened to cold-formed steel joists, 16 gauge minimum, with corrosion resistant self-tapping flat head screws, spaced 6" o.c. at the perimeter and 12" o.c. in the field of the panel. Glass fiber insulation, 3 1⁄2" thick minimum, friction fit and supported by RC-1 Channels spaced 12"o.c. maximum, fastened to the bottom of the joist. Two layers of 5⁄8" SHEETROCK® Brand FIRECODE C-Core fastened 8" o.c., end joints staggered and all joints finished.
