After several years of research and development, the engineers and scientists at the USG Research and Technology Innovation Center and the Structural Technologies Group have created the FORTACRETE® Structural Panel, a cement panel that forms the basis of an innovative, new flooring system.
Featuring a carpenter-based installation method, FORTACRETE Structural Panel combines the durability of concrete and the noncombustibility of steel. It is sturdy, repellent to pests, impervious to rot and mold. When used as the floor sheathing in a cold-formed steel framed structure, FORTACRETE Structural Panel can significantly reduce dead weight.
In low- and mid-rise multifamily and light commercial buildings, the FORTACRETE Floor System provides an alternative approach that can result in projects that are built faster, stronger, safer, and less expensive overall.
